They are the ones who will change the world."
Our Story
Hope Children's Home is a Christian orphanage that was established in 1974 by Rev. Ketut Daniel. Rev. Daniel was inspired to start the orphanage after reading James 1:27, which says: "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
The first children to live at Hope Children's Home were six orphans who had no parents or home. Rev. Daniel and his wife, Ni Wayan Sudarmi, took in these children and gave them a place to live, food to eat, and love to grow up in.
Over the years, Hope Children's Home has grown to accommodate more and more children. Today, the orphanage is home to over 100 children from all over Bali. The children at Hope Children's Home come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: they have lost their parents or guardians and need a place to call home.
Rev. Daniel and Ni Wayan Sudarmi continue to run Hope Children's Home today, along with their daughter, Rev. Ni Nyoman Trisnawathy. Rev. Trisnawathy is the current manager of the orphanage, and she is lovingly known as "Mum" by all of the children.
Hope Children's Home is a place of love, hope, and family. The children who live at the orphanage are given a safe place to grow up, learn, and thrive. They are also taught about God's love and how to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
